The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower built in Champ de Mars on the Seine river, Paris, France. It has become France's global icon and one of the best-known structures in the world. Built in 1887 to 1889, they were named after the architect, Gustave Eiffel.
The Eiffel Tower is the tallest building in Paris and the fifth tallest in France. The building is 324 meters high and the size of its square-shaped foundation is 125 meters. Almost all parts of the building are made of iron. There are three levels of the tower that can be visited by tourists. On the first and second level visitors will find a restaurant, on the first level is the restaurant Le 58 Tour Eiffel, on the second level is the restaurant Le Jules Verne. The top level is where we can find the observation deck.
Located in the middle of the city, the Eiffel Tower connects to the Paris metro public transport system that we can use to get to the tower. The nearest metro station from the tower is Bir Hakeim and there are several bus stops nearby. Tour Eiffel bus stop is the closest to the tower. For carriage transport, the Gare du Pont de l'Alma station is located at the river's end of this spectacular building. Paris can easily be explored by foot or by public transportation and the Eiffel Tower could be the starting point in exploring the city.
